The historical Robins Creek on the River Thames at Northfleet, Kent is an ideal location for what could be a very attractive and usable marina. It is less than 5 minutes from Ebbsfleet International Railway Station with trains to 17 minutes to Kings Cross St Pancras and London's West End and Theatre Land is only 35 minutes away. Ebbsfleet to Paris is only 2 hours away. For the complete shopping experience Europe's biggest shopping centre Bluewater is just 10 minutes away, road links are excellent, just five minutes drive from the A2 and M25. There is a proposal for a deep water International Cruise Liner pontoon adjacent to the site, appealing to visitors to the famous Pocahontas burial ground in the nearby St Georges Church, Gravesend Heritage and the express train service to London, Lille and Paris. As a marina it would be accessible at almost all states of the tide depending on the design of the lock gates needed. The location on the Thames would allow a very welcome stop off for travellers en route to London allowing them the ability to stop over, visit Gravesend or Paris then return to their boat and either leave on the low tide to go to London or leave at highwater to hug the UK coastline or the continent. The marina would encourage people to get involved in sailing and courses, locals and school children alike, followed by a nice lunch at a seafood bar! All that is needed to deliver this facility is leadership and some imagination from the developer who is poised to develop all the surrounding land. Currently there is no hotel at Ebbsfleet, Robins Creek Marina would offer a fantastic vista, with boats coming and going and ships going by on The Thames. This would make a good investment opportunity in its own right as long as the developer is not allowed to build on all the space which would be needed for boat yards and parking.
